Melaleuca is positioned to grow even more rapidly in upcoming years. To help keep up with this growth we are looking for an outstanding Toxicologist to join our team. This position plays a vital role in conducting all risk and safety assessments within our growing Toxicology organization. This person will focus on safety evaluations for raw materials, finished formulations, new technologies, and post-market safety, in compliance with global regulations and guidelines. Responsibilities Conduct safety assessments of raw materials and finished formulations for home cleaning, personal care, cosmetics, foods, and food supplement products including OTC products. Assessments include researching and reviewing scientific literature, evaluating toxicological information, determining appropriate toxicological endpoints, exposure assessments, and margin of safety. Prepare product safety reports for finished products to meet global regulatory requirements. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Research and Development and Marketing, to communicate product safety positions. Conduct post-market safety reviews and adverse events reviews. Qualifications Doctorate degree in Toxicology, Pharmacology or closely related field At least 3 years of experience in cosmetics/personal care/consumer healthcare/food/home cleaning industries Extensive knowledge and proficiency in risk assessment principles and practices Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills Strong project and time management skills Strong problem solving skills Strong ability to analyze, report, and document information with attention to detail Strong computer skills Just as important as your experience and skills will be the following characteristics and competencies: A natural orientation for continuous improvement and problem solving.
